London, UK, Tuesday 24 September, 2024: Zoa, the consumer energy management platform, today announces that it will be acquired by ENSEK, the leading retail energy SaaS software provider, in a move that will strengthen its offering to existing and future customers.

As part of ENSEK, Zoa will continue its mission to accelerate electrification in the home and transform consumers’ domestic energy experience in connection with ENSEK’s award-winning Ignition retail operating platform. Zoa’s 45 employees will continue to serve existing customers and now work as part of a 550 employee company, to work towards technological solutions for customers demands to digitise and accelerate the energy transition.

Sara Brooks, co-CEO of Zoa, said: "This acquisition is a validation of the strategic value of our technology and the talented team behind it. Together with ENSEK’s established platform already powering millions of homes in the UK, we look to significantly accelerate our reach and impact. Together, our complementary products will enable more households to decarbonise and lower their energy costs."

Since January 2024, Zoa has rapidly expanded its customer base, implementing AI solutions to manage devices in the home, save money for consumers and help energy companies launch new business models. In this short time it has grown its revenue and in the last month has signed three large customers who will be announced in the coming months.

Tom Fraine, co-CEO of Zoa, said: “It is very clear that the next evolution of the energy tech sector is happening, as leading players strengthen their technological capabilities in order to drive the energy transition and better serve consumer needs. Together we can leverage the best of ENSEK’s brilliant energy retail platform and our leading expertise in electrification and AI to drive the market forwards.”

Zoa was formed following UK energy supplier Bulb going into administration. Over the past two years, it has built an innovative SaaS platform for electrification, enabling its own distinct service to respond to the growing need for energy companies suppliers to use intelligent technology to drive and manage the rapid expansion of smart renewable energy devices.

Zoa would like to thank all its team for its extraordinary work over the past two years and looks forward to continuing its transformational journey as part of the ENSEK family.
